Claims Trend Review

A four-to-six week reading of one book of business: volumes, severity, mix, seasonality, and the outliers a claims committee should actually discuss.

Four to six weeks from a usable extract · From £8,400 for a single line of business

Desk covered with printed reports, notes, and a calculator during a claims review

Who it is for

Claims directors, heads of motor or household, and MGAs who need a committee-ready view of how a book is behaving — not a slide deck of unexplained charts.

What you leave with

A written briefing (usually twelve to twenty pages), a small set of charts the room can read without a presenter, and a half-day discussion with the people who own the book.

Included

  • A data specification for one extract: claim identifiers, dates, cause codes, payments, reserves, repairer or contractor flags, and solicitor indicators where you hold them
  • Cleansing notes: duplicate files, test claims, and fields we will not pretend are complete
  • Trend charts for volume, severity, mix, notification lag, and reopen activity
  • A fraud-watch annex listing clusters worth a second look, with reasons — not a ranked league table of every handler
  • A half-day briefing in person or by video, with the printed pack sent three working days ahead

Not included

  • Running investigations or contacting policyholders
  • Legal opinions on indemnity
  • Software licences, logins, or a standing feed into your systems
  • Underwriting rate filings

How the work proceeds

  1. Scoping call: line of business, accident years, and which committee the pack is for
  2. Extract: you send a file; we reply with a gap list within five working days
  3. Questions: a short round of clarification with claims and, if needed, finance
  4. Draft: you comment on facts, not on whether the story is comfortable
  5. Briefing: we walk the charts and leave the questions for the next extract

Where we work

Work is done from Dail Mor with visits by arrangement to your offices in the United Kingdom. Video briefings are available when the committee cannot sit in one room.

What we need from you

Nominate one claims owner and one person who can explain the extract. Freeze the extract date. Tell us about any repair-network, panel solicitor, or TPA change in the period.

Limits

We take one flagship review at a time. We do not accept extracts that omit claim identifiers. Personal data should be minimised; we work to a processing addendum.

Fees

From £8,400 for a single line (for example private motor, or household excluding flood) covering up to two accident years. Additional lines and extra years are quoted after we see row counts. Travel outside the Western Isles is billed at cost.
