A small room in Dail Mor, reading other people’s books

System Routeline started when Moira MacLeod left a motor claims desk and kept being asked to explain why a winter looked cheap in February. The answer was usually hire still running. The charts had not said so.

Why here

The office is at 93 St Andrews Lane, Dail Mor, on the Isle of Lewis. Distance from London committees is deliberate. We are not in your building, so we can still ask why collision date equals notification date on a fifth of the files. Visits happen; most of the reading happens here, with the extract printed when a screen would let us skip a row.

How we work with you

One claims owner, one extract, one briefing date. We will argue about fields before we argue about severity. We will not sign a pack that ranks handlers for lag they cannot control. James Okonkwo’s fraud notes name clusters and dates; they do not name a method a ring could game. Priya Shah will sit with finance on reserve movement and will say when a triangle is being asked to carry a story it cannot.

What we will not pretend

We are not appointed actuaries, solicitors, or investigators. Credentials in this field are years on a claims floor and a habit of writing the uncomfortable sentence. If a book needs statutory sign-off, you already have the people for that. We write the briefing those people can use.

People who read the files

Moira MacLeod

Principal, claims trend work

Moira spent twelve years as a motor claims manager for a mutual before moving to independent reading of books of business. She still prefers a printed file list to a wall of unexplained colour.

James Okonkwo

Fraud pattern reviewer

James worked as a liaison to special investigations units, translating referral rules into questions a handler can answer. He writes cluster notes that name the claims, not the algorithm.

Reserve and leakage

Priya came from claims finance. She reads opening reserves against later invoices and will say when a triangle cannot carry the story the committee wants.
